Moscow hostels: a place for a good company

Hostels appeared in Moscow comparatively recently and almost immediately became popular among students and budget travelers.

A lot of Moscow hostels can well compete with many hotels in both location and interior. Most of them are situated within the Garden Ring in the very center of the capital, close to all the principal places of interest and entertainment.

For example, Bear Hostels, the largest chain in Moscow, are all close to the Metro stations most popular with tourists: Mayakovskaya, Arbatskaya and Smolenskaya. In addition, these hostels have some excellent special offers — for instance, the ―Night Tariff‖: accommodation in a hostel from 11 p.m. to 9 a.m. costs just 500 rubles. In fact, all the prices are more than reasonable: accommodation in a room sleeping 16 people costs only 450 rubles and in a room for four people — 1,000 rubles.

The Moscow Home-Hostel is renowned for its discount promotions — its prices, which are already not high, are reduced depending on the time of year. This mini-hotel also offers special rates for tour companies and groups of 10 or more.

Perhaps one of the most unusual alternatives is Fabrika, Moscow‘s first art hostel. It is located on the territory of Krasny Oktyabr (Red October) Business park, a

center of attraction for fashionable young Muscovites, which in itself makes it a desirable place to stay, not to mention the fact that it is in the historic city center of the city, with a view of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior and just a few minutes‘ walk from the Kremlin. Fabrika‘s aim is not only to offer cheap accommodation to the capital‘s visitors, but also to entertain them — the art hostel regularly stages exhibitions and performances of various kinds. Besides that, there is an extremely tempting offer (привлекательное предложение) for creative individuals: artists who present their works to Fabrika‘s gallery are accommodated free of charge.
