The Double Opt-In process aims to verify all new subscribers email address for authenticity by requiring a final “verification” step in the Lead Gen sign up process.
This goal is accomplished by inserting a Double Opt-In link in the confirmation email of a new lead gen promotion. A subscriber will click the link and be taken to the regular Confirmation page that exists for the Lead Gen item. These content pieces will be attached to an existing Lead Gen promotion of your choosing.
Sign Up Page → Double Opt-In Confirmation Page → Double Opt-In Confirmation Email → Confirmation Page → Confirmation Email.
To utilize the Double Opt-In, select Content from the Main Input Menu.
Select the Item Type, Free List, and Offer Name you wish to tie the new content to and then select Content Type – Double Opt-In Confirmation Page.
Select the Version Name you wish to use for this new piece of content and enter the creative text and template for the Double Opt-In confirmation page. Reminder: this is the page subscribers will see after they have signed up for the initial offer. When finished select Create Content to save and continue.
Next, you will automatically be directed to the Double Opt-In Confirmation Email template with the first four fields pre-selected for you.
Create the Double Opt-In confirmation email template and insert a verification link using the D WYSIWYG.
By using this WYSIWYG tool to create a Double Opt-In hyperlink, once a subscriber selects this linked text their email address will automatically be moved to the appropriate list database for reporting purposes.
When you have finished entering your Double Opt-In confirmation email, select Create Content to save and be taken to the Content Details screen. You are now ready to create Lead Gen efforts utilizing the Double Opt-In feature.
When creating new efforts you will notice a new effort option appear when selecting content associated with a Double Opt-In email and page. Select the Double Opt-In effort option when creating your effort to utilize this feature.
